The Fontana dei Desideri (or ‘Wishing Fountain’) is immersed in the lush landscapes of the Mamuntanas district, just 5km from beautiful Alghero and just 5 minutes’ drive from that city’s wonderful beaches. Wine lovers will be delighted to hear that the immense SELLA&MOSCA estate – where you can sample the very finest wines Sardinia has to offer – is only 3km away. Culture vultures, on the other hand, can look forward to visiting the equally close Necropolis of ANGHELU RUIU. Our facility is located a mere 7km from Alghero airport and just 500m from Mamuntanas train station. The Fontana dei Desideri is a new facility comprising 8 terraced mini-apartments, two of which are suitable for disabled guests. Each 37m2 apartment is en suite and features an air-conditioned double bedroom, air-conditioned lounge with kitchenette, sofa bed and satellite TV. Moreover, each apartment has a veranda that looks out over the garden to the spellbinding ‘wishing fountain’ itself. There is also an excellent swimming pool, which is open at all times and allows you to enjoy a swim in harmony with your natural surroundings. Last, but by no means least, there is a small vegetable garden, where the vegetables that we have cultivated are picked fresh every day and served up every evening on the barbecue.
If you are coming from Fertilia airport:
Follow the signs for Alghero, and at the junction with Provincial Road No. 42 (signposted as ‘Strada Provinciale 42’ or ‘SP42’), join the road immediately in front of it (Mamuntanas junction). Continue along this road for 4.3km and you will come to the Fontana dei Desideri, which is appropriately signposted.

If you are coming from Porto Torres:
Follow the signs for Alghero. On reaching the Mamuntanas junction on Provincial Road No. 42 (signposted as ‘Strada Provinciale 42’ or ‘SP42’), take a left. Continue along this road for 4.3km and you will come to the Fontana dei Desideri, which is appropriately signposted.

If you are coming from Sassari:
On State Road No. 131 (signposted as ‘Strada Statale 131’ or ‘SS131’), follow the signs for Alghero. At the end of the Sassari-Alghero dual carriageway, take a right and head towards Alghero. Near the Mamuntanas junction on Provincial Road No. 42 (signposted as ‘Strada Provinciale 42’ or ‘SP42’), take a left. Continue along this road for 4.3km and you will come to the Fontana dei Desideri, which is appropriately signposted.

If you are coming by train:
On the Sassari-Alghero line, get off at Mamuntanas Station (you will need to sound the buzzer for the train to stop at this station). Follow the signs for the Fontana dei Desideri, which is located just 700m away.
